How to prepare a SlideShow (AudioVisual) for competition
BCG have an annual competition section for Diaporama, also known as Audiovisual...AVs are simply sequences of still images with a soundtrack. It's not hard to produce one using a number of cheap software programs.
Preferred format is the self-executing application or exe file which preserves utmost quality and perfect sync in a compact show which will scale up to any screen size. These can be made using Proshow, PicturesToExe or Photomagico (the lattter on MAC), as recommended by the RPS. BCG will also accept mp4 or mov movie files PROVIDED they are rendered to a HD quality (1080 pixels). NOT RECOMMENED are generic slideshow software such as Powerpoint which dont synchronise and have poor image quality.
Full Motion video capture (above 8 frames/sec) must not be included unchanged from video cameras, since the art of AV is the manual blending of still images. Simulated motion (eg stop motion animation and timelapse) may be used for effect.
