Our Home Page Gallery is featuring the winners and place getters from the April 2019 Monthly Competition.

This year we are introducing the A Grade Masters Competition with the inaugural winner to be announced at the 2019 Annual Awards Dinner. For more details on this exciting addition to our competitions, please see the 17 January edition of Short Notes, either in your email inbox or the web version at News > Latest News.

The list of set subjects for the 2019 Monthly Competitions can be found here. The next three months are as follows:

May - Impressionists

June - Negative Space

July - Photo Replication

Presenters Night - 13 May 2019

Craig Stampfli – My Photographic Journey. Craig will discuss his photographic journey from where he began through to where he is today, touching on genres such as portraiture, underwater, motor sport, landscapes, travel, aerial, and astro. For more information, please see the event in What's On (the Calendar).

Street Photography SIG Meeting - 20 May 2019

Our Special Guest for the evening is Lisa Kurtz. The night will include announcements of up and coming Street events for the SIG. Other guests include Sarah Biddle and Tony Laffan, the Entertainment Coordinators - Royal Queensland Show (the Ekka), to give an update of the EKKA Events. For more information, please see the event in What's On (the Calendar).

Video SIG Workshop - 21 May 2019

In our next BCG Video SIG session we will look at all the different types of camera shots - with a chance to practice some of them (so bring your camera along). Don't forget to work on your video and storyboard ideas as there will be a chance to present them to the group and get some feedback. For more information, please see the event in What's On (the Calendar).

Street Photography Walkabout - Saturday 8 June 2019

The second walkabout for this year. A morning/afternoon shoot in Ipswich Town Centre. Something a little different  - Ipswich is full of old interesting buildings. A Saturday late morning and afternoon should give us an opportunity to capture enough activity on the street. For more information, please see the event in What's On (the Calendar).

The Photographic Resource Library

Look for information on new photographic resources in the Photographic Resources Library in the News section in 2019. Ian's new post went live on 9th March 2019.

For further details on how images are to be submitted from now on, please see QT#13 – How to submit images to the BCG Digital Image Show under Documents and Files to Download or the 1 February 2019 edition of Short Notes (email and web).

Please be patient when clicking on the images in the featured gallery above. The images are large and may load a little slowly. If the larger version of the image does not appear, click on the image and then click on the left or right arrow.
