Forensic Photography - A Different Perspective - Shane Scarinci

Following graduation from the Queensland University of Technology in 1998, having completed a Bachelor of Science Degree (Biotechnology), Shane joined the Queensland Police Service where he graduated from the Police Academy in August 1999 and then went on to operate as a uniformed police officer for approx. 5 years.

In 2004 he then applied to become a Forensic Officer and successfully completed the course and 12 months of field training.

As a Forensic Officer, Shane has worked in a number of locations in Queensland including Indooroopilly, Fortitude Valley, Hendra, Caboolture, Cleveland, and Calamvale. During this period he successfully advanced his career and was promoted to Officer in Charge of Logan Forensic Facility where he currently serves.

Over his career, Shane has worked on literally thousands of crime scenes, including a number of high profile cases.

Shane will share how Photography can shape the forensic investigation and help develop the prosecutors’ case.
